This role is fully onsite and based in Bardstown, Kentucky.
 

What the Role Is
The Harvest Room Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of ensuring liquid supply to the plant and of the used barrel inventory program for Heaven Hill production. The Manager will lead a team to support processing of liquid supply to meet production demands and bulk liquid sales. This position will partner with internal and external customers (domestic and international) to ensure consistent and efficient processing of used barrels.
 

How You Will Spend Your Time?
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the processing of barrel emptying and bulk transfers.
  • Key contact for customer sales, distribution and logistics of all empty barrels with accuracy and follow-up to ensure positive customer relationships, domestically and internationally
  • Work directly with the processing manager to prevent any outages.
  • Manages international and domestic bulk liquid orders
  • Administers scheduling of bulk inventory quantities for production needs.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, overtime, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals including performing any withdraws and blends for processing
  • Read and analyze data, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Keep accurate records for TTB compliance.
  • Work to maintain proper inventory levels and adjustments in IFS.
  • Ensure safe work practices and rules are followed.
 

Who You Are…
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous work-related experience in spirits industry with inventory management.
  • Proficient computer skills including planning and inventory software, excel etc.
  • Previous experience with forecasting, planning and inventory management and negotiating pricing.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and coach people as they work.
  • Ability to understand the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead effectively in a union environment
 

Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
