Job Description
NIGHT AUDITOR The Night Auditor reviews the daily guest ledger of the hotel and verifies financial balances. Also acts as a Front Desk clerk during night hours, including checking guests in or out, taking reservations by phone, and providing services to guests. Responsibilities • Maintain accurate front desk cash drawers, room sales, and accurate folio transactions • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests • Issue room key and escort instructions • Transmit telephone messages • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions • Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts • Compute bills, collect payments, and make changes for guests • Make and confirm reservations • Post charges such as room, sundry items, fax or copy • Make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations, and arrange for tours • Deposit guests' valuables in safe deposit box • Answer telephone calls promptly and politely in accordance with hotel policies • Restock work area - maintain neat and organized work area • Deliver supplies to guests as needed • Review data regarding room status, income and expenditures • Prepare computer generated reports as required • Verify journal and ledger entries of cash, check and credit card payments • Transmit daily credit card batches to bank • Prepare checkout folios for daily departures with credit card payments
